Thomas was in second place, but broke his wrist on the catapult jump, and was forced to finish 5th! Way to stick with it, Dude!

I started racing in 1999 and had a lot of fun, but not a lot of good finishes. I received a total of three trophies and my best finish was a seventh place at Silver Springs, NY on 9-26. I worked hard, but considered that since it was only my second year on a motorcycle, I would use the experience to do better the next year.

My year 2000 season started off with a disappointing sixteenth overall finish at Hunt, NY on 4-16. Determined to win, I trained hard and rode to my first win on 5-21 at Silver Springs, only two races later. From then on, I raced two classes in two different districts, and finished every race in the top ten until my 7-23 return to the track at Hunt. On that day I finished fourth in the Sr. Mini class and third in the Mini Combined. From then on I finished in the top 5 in every race, and have accumulated twenty two second-place finishes with nine overall and four first place finishes with one first place overall in the AMA District Four Sr. Mini and Mini combined classes.

During the summer I was also winning the 80cc Saturday night Stadiumcross races Frozen Ocean Motorsports complex in Owasco, NY. This is a highly contested class with some of the best up and coming riders in the east competing in these crowd-filled events.
